Op 5 november 2014 organiseerde de Belgische Vereniging voor Zeerecht een voordracht op de Hogere Zeevaartschool met als spreker Lizabeth Burrell (Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, New York), voormalig President van de Maritime Law Association of the US, die sprak over “The United States as the enfant terrible of the international maritime family. The repercussions of geography, history and federalism on accession to international conventions”.
