The Belgian Maritime Law Assocation was informed by Mr. Stuart Hetherington, President of the Comite Maritime International, that Mr. Francesco Berlingieri has passed away on 6 March 2018. Enclosed you will find copy of the letter we received from the President of the CMI.

Mr. Francesco Berlingieri was presented at the CMI Genoa Meeting last year in september with a silver salver, which bore the following inscription:  

"Francesco Berlingeri

Member of the Excecutive Council from 1972,

President from 1976 to 1991,

President ad Honorem from 1991

In recognition and gratitude for his service and devotion to the CMI".

The Belgian Maritime Law Association honours the leadership and contribution of Mr. Francesco Berlingieri to the CMI and would like to extend its sincere condolences.  We wish the family strength in these sad days.
